Most strawberries grow in the Sharon area. This time, we went to Strawberry in the Village on Yefe Nof Street in Ganei Am, near Hod HaSharon. Since it is a new place, it has not been added to Waze yet. However, since it is near “Cobs and Mazes,” you can enter that into Waze. Alternatively, you can use the links below.

At Strawberry in the Village
Strawberry in the Village is a new place (as far as I know, they opened in the second half of 2024). This place has several advantages and disadvantages.
Benefits:
- Greenhouses: They grow strawberries in greenhouses. It means that you can pick strawberries even in rainy weather. Moreover, the season of 2024 – 2025 did not yield many strawberries. While this has affected many farms (many did not offer self-picking), greenhouses should be less weather-prone.
- Hanging Crop: Growing hanging strawberries is a relatively new technique (one of their signs mentions that it has been used only in the last twenty years). I first saw strawberries hanging at The Salad Trail five years ago. As far as I remember, they grew in the air mainly because of inadequate soil. These strawberries were not planted in soil but raised in coconut leftovers.
However, the main advantage is for people with knee or back problems. You do not need to bend or squat to collect strawberries. - Strawberries with the taste of grapes or pineapple: Strawberry in the Village has several unique-tasting strawberries.
Drawbacks:
- Strawberry availability – One of the main reasons for our visit was strawberries with the taste of grapes or pineapple. But when we arrived, we were told that all the special strawberries were over (visitors finished all of them during the first weekend). Hence, if you want special-tasting strawberries, check availability in advance.
- Entrance Fee is quite expensive for the experience. There are about ten small greenhouses (each about the size of a half-basketball field), and there are no additional activities.
