Store
We visited on a Friday morning, and our first stop was the store.
The store is not big, and inside you can find the farm’s produce. There are cheeses and yogurts, as well as baked goods and other items.

During our visit, they brought freshly made ricotta to the store. It was still warm when we tasted it, and, of course, we bought some to take home.
The cheeses we tasted were delicious. However, the selection of breads and baked goods was very small. Hence, we bought their ice cream yogurt and sat at a table by the store.

Note: You can order a big cheese plate, and they will prepare it with a variety of cheeses, bread, and wine.
Since it is the only buffalo farm in Israel, after we finished eating, we went to see the buffalo.

Most of the buffalo were shy, but some of them were pretty friendly.
About The Buffalo Farm
The Buffalo Farm is the initiative of Hagai and Irit Treister.
The story of the dairy began when Hagai and Irit traveled to Italy, ate wonderful yogurt, and were amazed by its taste. The couple never forgot the trip, and the taste lingered.
One day, like a bolt from the blue, Hagai had a crazy idea – to track down the buffalo and bring them to the Land of Israel. Hagai had quite a bit of nostalgia for Israel and the old agricultural region, since until the end of the 19th and 20th centuries, Buffalo was mainly raised in the land by its Arab residents (who called it Jamus).Hagi and Irit began running between various government offices and councils, navigating a lot of bureaucracy.
In 1995, it happened. A herd of young buffalo arrived in Israel, and a beautiful dairy was opened on the Moshav in Bazron. The buffalo acclimatized well on the farm, breeding and producing healthy and tasty produce. Buffalo milk is used to create dairy products such as mozzarella, ricotta, and yogurt.
The study of product preparation was conducted in dairies in southern Italy (Latina and Campania), and to this day, the connection with the teachers remains.
Today, at the “Buffalo Farm” on the Moshav in Bazron near Gedera, which includes a farm, a visitor center, a dairy, and a shop where all the extended family works.
The farm specializes in breeding and caring for buffalo.
At the end of 2010, a new barn was built for the buffalo herd, allowing them to benefit from the improved conditions and open air.
The new barn is built and designed in accordance with the strict standards of the Ministry of Environmental Quality.
