Let’s review the map from the left (south) to the right (north). You can find Herzliya train station in the upper left corner at the end of Yosef Nevo Street. In the bottom left corner, you can see Seven Stars Mall. You can find a playground, restrooms, cafe, sports facilities, and BBQ area near the southern parking lot.

Closer to the central entrance (near the red word “WOW”), you can find the big amphitheater, cafe, restrooms, and big playground for kids.

To the north of the main entrance, you can see the winter pond and the bird-watching hut. And in the most northern area (closer to Jabotinski Street), you can find a cafe, pump tracks, a fitness complex, a small theater, restrooms, and more.

Parking

There are many parking places near Yosef Nevo Street Street. There is also a smaller parking lot near Ben Zion Michaeli Streets. The parking areas mentioned have blue and white curbs, meaning paid parking (use your favorite app).

The only free parking in this area is near the train station. Drive along Ben Zion Michaeli Street to the end, and at the roundabout, turn right. You will find big dirt parking. Since it is further away, reaching the park will take 5-10 minutes.

Opening Hours

As I mentioned above, the park has no fences (and no gates). But this does not mean the park is always open. The official site lists the following opening hours:

Sunday – Saturday: 06:00 – 22:00

The train’s opening hours are from 16:00 to 19:30. During the summer, it also operates from 10:00 to 14:00.

Note: At 22:00, Herzliya municipality turns off the lights (except the lights along the trails).

Entrance Fee

Free.

Restrooms

There are four restrooms in the park. There are toilets near the southern, northern, and main entrances. And the last restroom is near the winter pond.

According to the following sign, barbeque is allowed only in the designated area.

The Barbeque area is located south of the main entrance (south of the big playground).

Dogs

Entrance with dogs is allowed, but they should be on a leash.

Playgrounds

There are several playgrounds, but the kid’s playground near the main entrance is by far the biggest. Here are several photos:

As you can see from the photos, the playground is quite extensive. There is a dedicated area for toddlers, and the rest is for older kids.

Park Train

Near the main entrance, you can find the park train. A ride around the park (about 10 minutes) costs 20 NIS per person.

Bird Watching and Winter Ponds

Herzliya Park was created around winter ponds. They received this name since the ponds dry up during the summer and have water after the rains in the winter. The ponds are in the north area of the park, and a wooden path was constructed to explore this area. Here are several photos:

Also, while walking on the wooden path, you will see a sign pointing to the bird-watching center. The center is a small wooden lookout observing a pond with explanatory signs. Here are several photos:

As I mentioned, there are several winter ponds, and if you continue further to the north, you will see another one.

Cafes and Restaurants

In the northern part of the park, you can find Parker Bar (mostly pizzas and hamburgers). In the southern part of the park, you can find Cafe Gan Sipur (which offers a dairy-fish menu). Near the main entrance, by the big playground, you can find a food truck (mostly ice creams and other sweets).

Sport Facilities

First, I want to mention the paths. As you can see from the following photos, almost all places have a double path. The paved road is for bicycles, and the soft orange path is for runners. Hence, the park is a good place for running.

Also, there are several sports complexes in the park. Here are several photos:

Note: Near the park, you can find a skate park.

Pump Track

In the northern area, you can find several pump tracks.

We have covered most of the things that the park has to offer. Here are several additional photos from the park:

Also, you can find Big Petah Tikva Park, which is a little to the south.

Summary

Herzliya Park is a lovely place, and it is a good fit if you are looking for a half-day family attraction or a place for outdoor activities. Over the years, I visited this park many times and keep returning occasionally.
