Last several days were really hot, so I’ve put water container on the windowsill. The first guest (after three days) was the common myna, also sometimes known as “Indian Myna”. This wasn’t a big surprise since in Israel the Common Myna (Acridotheres tristis) is an invasive species. Moreover it was declared as one of the world’s most invasive species (IUCN Species Survival Commission 2010).
According to the net, the Common Myna was brought to Israel in mid 90s to Zapari (bird park in Tel-Aviv). And the rest is history. Now you can find the Common Myna in all places in Israel. They are very adaptable. Once they even found a Myna nest inside a plane’s wing. The plane parked in Sde Dov airport over the weekend.
Back to the water container: I’ve put water and some apple. But all they really wanted was to take a bath. Here is the video I made using GoPro:
