Bomb Shelters
We visited last Saturday, during what some call the second Iranian war. There was a bomb and missile threat during our visit. Our guides took us to the nearby bomb shelter, and when we received the clear signal, we returned to the activity.
At Ulpan HaKesem
We arrived about 20 minutes before the activity began. Our guides took us to a registration station where each of us received a rubber bracelet with a chip. We also entered our names and an email address. The video clips you create will be sent to that email address.
Green Screen Room and Secret Room
We started our visit at the green screen room. This room has four different sets, and our guide explained how to operate them.
In the following photos, you can see the climbing green screen wall, the news anchor studio, the car set, and the flying carpet set. Each family chooses a different set, and after creating several clips, we changed locations.

Also, near this room, there is a small room with costumes.

Each family had enough time to create several video clips on each set. Moreover, our guide took each family in turn to the secret room.

Animation Room
Our next stop was the animation room. The guide who met us there explained and demonstrated the Zoetrope and Phonotrope.

There were also several stations where you could create stop motions.

After choosing a station, you could create stop-motion or draw for the Zoetrope and the Phonotrope. And we had enough time to try all the activities.
Sound Studio
Our last activity was creating sound track for various video clips. Each person choose different activity, whether it was dubbing or creating sound effects using various tools.

What age groups is this activity suitable for?
On their official website, they recommend this activity for children ages 4 to 14, and I agree with this suggestion. My oldest daughter, who is 14, remarked that it was nice, but kids younger than 4 probably will not understand much.
How much time will this activity take?
In our case, it took a little more than 90 minutes, but they gave us extra time due to the missile threat. Hence, in most cases, it will take about 80 minutes.
Summary
Ulpan HaKesem is a delightful destination that caters to both teenagers and younger children, making it an excellent choice for families. Since it is a small attraction, you can easily combine your visit with other nearby sites. You can find these attractions on the interactive map above.
