At Daliat al-Carmel
On a Saturday morning, we drove to Daliat al-Carmel. We planned to eat breakfast, visit the House of Colors, and walk in the old city.
There are many cafes and restaurants in this Druze regional council. We started with the new and promising coffee shop PatisseReem. They serve breakfasts and French-style desserts.
We enjoyed the desserts, and I loved that they were not too sweet.
Regarding walking in the old city. As it turned out, most streets are narrow, and there are no sidewalks in many parts of this regional council. Therefore, it is not convenient to walk in Daliat al-Carmel. Between most stops, people are driving. And only several short street sections are walkable.
Note: in some parts of Daliat al-Carmel, our phones lost connectivity. Thus, it is better to plan all attractions.
And now, let’s head to the main attraction.
In the House of Colors
We reached around noon on Saturday. Probably due to the narrow streets and the number of people, a man blocked the car entrance and pointed to a nearby street where parking could be found. Most places in the city have blue and white curbs. I paid with Pango, and it was three NIS per hour.
After a short walk, we saw the house. It is a four-story house. The lowest level is not visible from the street and is not open to the public. The entrance floor has an entrance hall with paintings, several tree art installations, and a presentation room. There are also restrooms and a coffee shop on the entrance floor. The upper floor is where you walk freely in all the rooms. And finally, there is the roof.
Near the house, there is a bus and two cars.
Here are several exterior photos:

Entrance Floor
After purchasing tickets at the entrance, the cashier told us that there would be a guided tour in ten minutes. Hence, we waited in the big hall with the paintings. Here are several photos:

About thirty people were waiting for the tour. Then we followed to a screening room and saw a 15-minute movie. In the film, Sam Halaby tells his story.
Starting from a young age, Sam was interested in art. It was a hard start, but his mother supported him, and finally, his works were shown in an art gallery.
When his mother passed away, he started this color-splashing technique. And when his father died, he was left with this house, the house where he grew up. Sam decided to turn his childhood house into an art exhibit.

The Upper Floor
When the movie ended, we were directed to the upper floor. From this point on, we explored the house freely and without time limitations.
Here are several photos from the upper floor:

The Roof
Next, we headed to the roof and saw a boat there.

Lastly, we visited the bus.

Summary
We spent around one hour at House of Colors. It is a unique art project, and if you are in the area or looking for a stop on the way to the north, consider this place.
